Job Responsibilities
A UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) designer is responsible for creating intuitive and visually appealing interfaces for digital products, such as websites, mobile applications, or software. Their role focuses on enhancing user satisfaction by improving the usability, accessibility, and overall experience of the product.
Here are the roles and responsibilities of a UI/UX designer:
- User Research: Conduct user research to gain insights into user behaviours, needs, and preferences. This includes activities such as user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- User Experience Design: Develop the overall user experience strategy and design user flows, wireframes, and prototypes. This involves creating intuitive navigation, defining interaction models, and ensuring a smooth and engaging user journey.
- User Interface Design: Craft visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces. This includes selecting appropriate colour schemes, typography, icons, and other visual elements to create a consistent and aesthetically pleasing design.
- Information Architecture: Organize and structure information in a logical and user-friendly way. This involves creating site maps, navigation menus and categorising content to ensure easy discoverability and accessibility.
- Interaction Design: Define and design interactive elements and animations that provide feedback and enhance user experience. This includes creating interactive prototypes to demonstrate and test the functionality of the design.
- Usability Testing: Conduct usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the design. This involves gathering user feedback, analysing data, and iterating on the design based on the test results.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other teams, such as developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to understand project requirements, align on goals, and ensure the design vision is implemented effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for presenting design concepts, explaining design decisions, and receiving feedback.
- User Interface Guidelines and Standards: Stay updated with industry best practices and design trends, as well as adhere to platform-specific guidelines (e.g., iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design).
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Keep up with the evolving UI/UX design field by learning new tools, techniques, and emerging technologies. Actively seek feedback and opportunities for improvement to enhance skills and deliver high-quality designs.

- BSc in Design, Computer Science or other relevant fields.
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 6 year(s)
- Developer/ Web Designer
- Work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.
- Portfolio of design projects.
- Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision)
- Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Good time-management skills.
